LOGISTICS

Hotel Rooms
A block of rooms have been reserved at The Westin Michigan Avenue Chicago hotel for the nights of May 14, 15, and 16, 2018, at the rate of $215/night plus tax (single/double occupancy). To make your hotel reservations, please call 1 (888) 627-8385 and specify you are with the “HPOG Roundtable Meeting.” You can also reserve online by clicking here. The deadline for making your room reservations at the meeting rate is April 14, 2018. After this date, the room rate will be based on availability.

The hotel is 18 miles from Chicago O’Hare International Airport and 13 miles from Chicago Midway International Airport.

Food and Drinks During the Meeting
No food or beverages will be provided at the meeting; however, there is a restaurant at the hotel as well as many restaurants, cafes, and stores nearby.

Travel
Two airports serve the Chicago area and there are several ways to reach downtown Chicago from each airport:

Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD)

  • Distance to hotel: 18 miles
  • Chicago Transit Authority (CTA): $2.25 (one way)
  • Estimated taxi fare: $35 – $45 USD (one way)

Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW)

  • Distance to hotel: 11 miles
  • Chicago Transit Authority (CTA): $2.25 (one way)
  • Estimated taxi fare: $35 – $45 USD (one way)

Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD)

Shuttle—GO Airport Express
GO Airport Express offers daily, door-to-door service between ORD and the city. Operations begin during the early morning hours with departures approximately every 10 to 15 minutes from each terminal. The fare to the city from ORD is approximately $33.

Pickup Location: Shuttles pick up passengers outside the baggage claim area in the innermost lane of the lower level roadways of the Domestic and International Terminals. Advance notice is strongly encouraged.

Chicago Transit Authority (CTA)
When taking public transportation from ORD, take the Blue Line train to Michigan & Delaware/Walton stop. The Westin Michigan Avenue Chicago is located across the street. Average cost is $2.25 per ticket.

Taxicab
The average taxi fare from the airport to downtown is approximately $35-$45 before gratuity. Taxi stands can be found at the lower level curb outside baggage claim at each terminal.

Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW)

Shuttle—GO Airport Express
GO Airport Express offers daily, door-to-door service between MDW and the city from 6:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Departures are about every 15 minutes. The fare to the city from MDW is approximately $27.

Pickup Location: GO Airport Express is located at lower level Arrivals door #3 on the inside lane. Advance notice is strongly encouraged.

Chicago Transit Authority (CTA)
From MDW, take the Orange Line to Chicago, Roosevelt. Get off at the Chicago, Roosevelt stop and transfer to the red line. The Westin Michigan Avenue Chicago is located across from the Michigan & Delaware/Walton stop. Average cost is $2.25 per ticket.

Taxicab
