Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI)
Lisa Stewart, MA, is a patient advocate and the parent of two children with special health care needs. She began working in healthcare as a navigator for patients and caregivers of children with complex medical conditions and subsequently consulted on research teams serving as a stakeholder representative. Until recently she co-chaired the community advisory board for Children’s National’s NIH Clinical and Translational Science Award, served in leadership of Children’s patient advisory council, and co-produced a public series called Science Café 360. Currently she is an Engagement Officer at the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) where she works to assure that meaningful and ongoing patient and stakeholder engagement is carried out throughout the course of research studies.
