White House United States Digital Service (USDS) and Director of Innovation R&D at Boston Children’s Hospital
Gajen Sunthara is currently a Health Technology Consultant at the White House United States Digital Service (USDS) and Director of Innovation R&D at Boston Children’s Hospital. Prior to this, Gajen was a White House Presidential Innovation Fellow (PIF) for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services where he worked on health interoperability standards and enabling patients to access their health data. While as a PIF, he worked with multiple government agencies including the Department of Defense (DoD), Veteran Affairs (VA), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and private sectors in healthcare. He also volunteers as a Senior Advisor for InciteHealth at the Center for Primary Care at Harvard Medical School and for Hacking Pediatrics in collaboration with MIT H@cking Medicine. Gajen cofounded Nightingale Apps, a health information technology company offering mobile applications to nurses working in the hospital settings. Gajen has a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Wentworth Institute of Technology and a M.S. in Information Technology from Harvard University.
