Co-Founder and Executive Director of Guiding Lights Caregiver Support Center
Nicole Bruno, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Guiding Lights Caregiver Support Center, holds a BSW degree and has over 17 years of experience working at healthcare organizations in New York and North Carolina. In 2010 she co-founded Guiding Lights, a nonprofit caregiver support center serving family and professional caregivers and since then has served as its Executive Director. She also is on staff at Transitions LifeCare, where she provides community education with a special emphasis on caregiving. In the community she is a strong advocate for caregivers and is a sought out dementia care educator and community outreach specialist, hosting two weekly radio shows on caregiving. She is the 2010 recipient of the “Potter’s Hand” Award from Brookdale Senior Living and the Clietis Garret Award from Homewatch International, and the 2012 recipient of a Health Care Heroes Award from the Triangle Business Journal, honoring individuals and organizations for “putting innovation and compassion to work to improve the human condition.”
