Emeritus of the Abyssinian Baptist Church Health Ministry
Mrs. Patricia R. Butts is the Founder and President Emeritus of the Abyssinian Baptist Church Health Ministry. She is a founder and current chair of the Communities of Harlem Health Revival, a group of over 60 faith-based and community organizations. This year, celebrating its tenth anniversary through events and outreach, this group sponsored three health conferences reaching over 10,000 residents of the Harlem community. She was instrumental in the establishment the Barber Shop Quartet, a mobile van that visits barber shops and provides screening and care for men’s health issues. She has an appointment at Columbia University School of Nursing, and has been a leader in research partnerships with investigators from several universities across New York City.
