We’re pleased to invite you to join ODPHP for a webinar about reducing the rates of adverse drug events.
Adverse drug events (ADEs) are injuries caused by medical interventions related to a pharmaceutical drug. They include medication errors, adverse drug reactions, allergic reactions, and overdoses. Two out of 3 ADEs are related to 3 specific types of drugs: anticoagulants, diabetes, and opioids.
ADEs are a significant cause of injury to patients. In inpatient settings, they affect about 2 million hospital stays each year. They’re also responsible for an annual 3.5 million visits to the doctor.
