Alessandro Gravina is a Health Communication Manager at the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health at the US Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). With more than 15 years of experience in the industry, he supports various public health initiatives through collaborations with other federal agencies across the Department including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and the Office of Personnel Management among others. His leadership helps guide and shape national public health awareness campaigns, bilingual disease prevention and health promotion efforts, and critical partnerships with organizations from the public and private sectors that are instrumental to reach target audiences across the U.S.
Prior to joining DHHS, Alessandro supported diverse initiatives of several institutes within the National Institutes of Health and the CDC. In this capacity, he led the design and implementation of public outreach and media strategies for national campaigns addressing topics of social interest and various health issues ranging from nutrition, diabetes, heart disease, HIV/AIDS, childhood and adult immunizations, Microbicides, Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis, and HIV Vaccines research among others.
